BRAND FAQs

ABOUT THE RETREATS

  • The perfect marriage of an influencer retreat and a content trip, all in one experience. Diverse influencers from around the country will both use (and post about) new products, all while acting as models for quality photos and videos. Upon completion of a Greenhalgh PR Content Retreat, brands come away with a portfolio of content to use on social channels, and lasting relationships with high-impact influencers.

  • Jess Greenhalgh is a communications consultant based in Brookline, Massachusetts. Originally from Portland, Maine, Jess has called the Boston area home for 15 years.

With a specialization in event planning and retreats, Jess has planned more than 100 events throughout her career.

  • Greenhalgh PR plans to run at least two Influencer Content Retreats per year: one in the spring to shoot Summer Content, and one in the fall to shoot Winter/Holiday Content.

  • Absolutely. And we operate on a first-come, first-served basis, so the sooner you express interest in a category, the more likely that the category will be open.

  • Participation fees vary depending on the retreat and the level of sponsorship. To get the rates for our upcoming retreats, please email Jess directly at jessica@greenhalghpr.com

  • This is a much more affordable option than individual influencer projects and branded content shoots! All of the outlined packages are there as guidelines, so we can scale things based off your budget.

  • Each tier of sponsorship is outlined as a suggestion, and everything is negotiable. Need more video? No problem! Don’t need assets and just want impressions? Easy! We’ll adjust the fees based on what you’re looking for.

  • We have a few we’re happy to send your way, but it may not be for your exact category. We’ve worked with a bunch of brands so we should have something that will give you a good idea of what you can expect.

TRACKING / CREATORS

  • We use a platform called ModDash to track all of the creator posting. As of now we only track stories and posts on Instagram, and do not track on any other social media platform.

  • Many attendees will be posting to TikTok, but we're not tracking on that platform because not all our influencers have built those channels up yet.

  • We carefully select our attendees to reach different audiences, so inevitably, some will be a better fit for your brand. We will not discourage any influencers from posting about your brand, but we find that the influencers who are more naturally suited for particular categories tend to post about those brands the most.

  • Yes! Feel free to pitch any influencers for individual campaigns following the retreat - we’d love that!

  • We have all sponsors fill out a creative brief, and you can include any buzzwords or phrases you’d like to use. From there, I’ll create a brand profile that each photographer and influencer will have in their booklets and carry with them to help keep the messaging on brand.

Pending level of participation, you’ll also have a 15-minute virtual meeting with the attendees before the retreat where you can give them a little overview of the products and talk about what you’re sending. During that meeting, you can highlight what’s unique about the brand.

  • Absolutely, happy to have you send those, but we can’t guarantee that they’ll opt to use them. If the influencer decides that using the code isn’t a fit for their channel, they don’t have to include it.

  • We use a careful process to select our attendees so they represent as many demographics as possible. The following are factors in our selection process:

    -Followers/engagement

    -Where they are based (region)

    -Selection of body types

    -Different ethnicities

    -Range of ages

    -Niche audiences / interests

  • Each influencer is paid a different rate, and we evaluate each influencer on a case-by-case basis. We also cover all transportation, accommodations, and a minimum of two meals per day.

Note: Influencers can’t make a living off of in-kind/trade agreements, and a free trip or case of free samples isn’t going to pay their bills, so we make sure they are being fairly compensated for their work. This is one of the reasons that we do not work with brands on an in-kind basis!

  • There are tons of answers to this, but within the parameters of this retreat, here are some of the top reasons:

You are given more control of the experience, outcome, and message because they are being hired as employees.

Influencers have hard-earned, highly curated, activated audiences built over years of hard work. These audiences are extremely engaged and trusting, which results in more sales.

ASSETS

  • Technically, Greenhalgh PR will own all the assets, and they will be licensed to you.

USAGE: You can use the images and video for any digital marketing - posting to social media, on your website, or in newsletters.

Any assets with an influencer’s face/likeness can only be used through the end of the usage period as determined for the retreat, but any assets with just product will be yours to use in perpetuity.

  • We’ll work closely with you to determine the settings and messages you want for your photography and videos. Each brand will have a comprehensive overview that is provided to the attendees and photographer to ensure all your content is on brand and aligns with your desired aesthetic.

  • We’ll provide you with a bank of proofs so you can select your final assets.

  • Definitely let us know if these are a couple that are better suited for the brand vibe, and we’ll weigh the shots to focus around those people. We want the content to be perfect for you, so we’ll do our best to make it in the style you want.

  • If you sign on for a package that includes creator engagement, then yes! We’ll provide you with a recap report that includes all of your data from the trip.

That said, you must repost/interact as the retreat is happening to capitalize on those mentions.

  • Of course! You can find a gallery at the link below.

SAMPLES / PRODUCT

  • We ask that you send enough product for all the influencers and staff, and that varies depending on the product. Jess will help guide this process to avoid any extras.

  • You will only own one category, but depending on which other categories have been secured, you may be able to send items from other collections. Check-in with Jess to help find out what is available, and what you should be sending.

  • Generally speaking, the creators don’t love gifts that are overly branded and/or of lower value. (Things like expo swag - pens, totes, etc.) For gifting, we recommend sending items that are higher in value and have subtle branded elements.

That said, we love to include branding in assets wherever possible. If you want to send a few items that may work in photography, please send a few to Jess to keep in our prop arsenal. (Branded glassware, a shirt with a logo across the front, a branded tray for display, etc.)

  • If you provide us with return shipping labels, we’ll be happy to ship back any extras at the end of the retreat. If you opt not to do this, Jess will donate any extras to a local charity.

  • This is for a few reasons:

-The retreat functions as a group; when people are left out, it offsets the balance. We often sit around talking about our favorite products, and everyone needs to participate in the conversation.

-The staff and photographers occasionally make it into the background of social posts, and we’d hate to have other brands in there!
